This article investigates if and how negotiators' self-efficacy beliefs affect their use of deception in negotiation. Specifically, we propose that self-efficacy can be interpreted as a threat to self-concept, which encourages individuals to temporarily bypass self-regulatory obstacles by morally disengaging their cognitive moral filters, thereby enabling them to use deception in negotiation. We test our hypotheses in three independent experimental studies involving an interactive negotiation simulation, totalizing 460 participants. We find that negotiators with low self-efficacy regarding their negotiation abilities are (...) more likely to use deception than those with high self-efficacy beliefs. Furthermore, we find that moral disengagement mediates the effects of self-efficacy on deception. Our findings suggest that self-efficacy plays a key role in shaping negotiators' ethical behaviors and we identify the psychological mechanism underlying this relationship. (shrink)

O objetivo deste artigo é discutir a ofensa sexual cometida por adolescentes/jovens adultos e as implicações sociais e jurídicas decorrentes. A adolescência é um período em que ocorrem mudanças significativas e a ofensa sexual é uma questão de saúde pública, complexa e multideterminada. Cometer ofensa sexual na faixa etária entre 16-21 anos traz a necessidade de compreensão contextualizada, pois envolve dimensões jurídicas diferenciadas. Trata-se de uma pesquisa documental com os prontuários de cinco adolescentes atendidos em uma instituição de saúde pública. (...) Os dados foram analisados a partir de categorias que conectam as vitimizações a aspectos sociofamiliares e implicações jurídicas. Os resultados apresentaram a polivitimização na história de vida e um ponto limite de virem a lidar com conjunto de regras de criminalização ou de proteção, de enfrentarem contextos jurídicos com legislações diferentes, quando ainda pertencem ao mesmo contexto familiar e à mesma comunidade. The past two decades have seen an explosion in the methods and directions of neuroscience research. Along with many others, complexity research has rapidly gained traction as both an independent research field and a valuable subdiscipline in computational neuroscience. In the past decade alone, several studies have suggested that psychiatric disorders affect the spatiotemporal complexity of both global and region-specific brain activity (Liu et al., 2013;Adhikari et al., 2017;Li et al., 2018). However, many of these studies have not accounted for (...) the distributed nature of cognition in either the global or regional complexity estimates, which may lead to erroneous interpretations of both global and region-specific entropy estimates. To alleviate this concern, we propose a novel method for estimating complexity. This method relies upon projecting dynamic functional connectivity into a low-dimensional space which captures the distributed nature of brain activity. Dimension-specific entropy may be estimated within this space, which in turn allows for a rapid estimate of global signal complexity. Testing this method on a recently acquired obsessive-compulsive disorder dataset reveals substantial increases in the complexity of both global and dimension-specific activity versus healthy controls, suggesting that obsessive-compulsive patients may experience increased disorder in cognition. To probe the potential causes of this alteration, we estimate subject-level effective connectivityviaa Hopf oscillator-based model dynamic model, the results of which suggest that obsessive-compulsive patients may experience abnormally high connectivity across a broad network in the cortex. These findings are broadly in line with results from previous studies, suggesting that this method is both robust and sensitive to group-level complexity alterations. (shrink)

In the course of recent investigations on artificial intelligence (AI) and its scope in different societal domains and industries, two notable research frontiers have taken center stage: the growing exploration of the interactive relationship between humans and increasingly intelligent systems and the renewed emphasis on integrating a range of social science and humanities perspectives within AI research. This surge in interest, coupled with the proliferation of publications and diverse terminologies, has led to a complex landscape where theoretical inconsistency and conceptual (...) confusion abound. In response, this work aims to bridge critical gaps by (1) exploring how recent studies in the field of human–AI interaction define their terminologies and fundamental concepts (i.e., knowledge, intelligence, and learning) and (2) developing a novel conceptual overview that facilitates navigation through the diversity of concepts, including new paradigms in AI that integrate perspectives from social sciences and humanities. Our findings reveal that researchers in this cross-sectional field understand that intelligence is more frequently seen as intricately linked with knowledge, with a mutually causal relationship between the two. Despite the proliferation of terminologies across different areas of expertise, such as human-centric design, human–AI collaborative arrangements, and synergy as a process of mutual enhancement, the theoretical distinctions among them remain unclear. To address these complexities, we developed a conceptual overview that functions as a paradigm matrix, enabling the identification of tensions arising from the integration of multiple paradigms across different theories and epistemologies from social sciences and humanities. This conceptual overview is designed not to homogenize these perspectives, but to foster dialogue and reflection, allowing researchers to appreciate and leverage the unique strengths and insights each paradigm offers. This paradigm matrix promises to enhance our understanding of the dynamic and multifaceted interaction between humans and AI, paving the way for more coherent and impactful research in this rapidly evolving field. The ontology behind quantum mechanics has been the subject of endless debate since the theory was formulated some 100 years ago. It has been suggested, at one time or another, that the objects described by the theory may be individual particles, waves, fields, ensembles of particles, observers, and minds, among many other possibilities. I maintain that these disagreements are due in part to a lack of precision in the use of the theory’s various semantic designators. In particular, there is some (...) confusion about the role of representation, reference, and denotation in the theory. In this article, I first analyze the role of the semantic apparatus in physical theories in general and then discuss the corresponding ontological implications for quantum mechanics. Subsequently, I consider the extension of the theory to quantum fields and then analyze the semantic changes of the designators with their ontological consequences. In addition to the classical arguments to rule out a particle ontology in the case of non-relativistic quantum field theory, I show how the existence of black holes makes the proposal of a particle ontology in general spacetimes unfeasible. I conclude by proposing a provisional pluralistic ontology of fields and spacetime and discussing some prospects for possible future ontological economies. (shrink)

In Metaphysics A.4, Aristotle provides crucial information about fundamental aspects of the chemistry and microphysics of the atomic theory of Leucippus and Democritus of Abdera. Besides the plenum and the void, which he identifies as the elements of the atomic theory, he presents what he himself names as differences. These fundamental differences are named so because they ought to be responsible for the emergence of all other differences in the physical world, and especially the ones that hit our senses. Aristotle (...) provides a list of three differences both in what is recognized as autochthonous terminology from Leucippus and Democritus, and in a translation to terms apparently more intelligible to Aristotelian listeners. Among those differences there is one in particular that is harder to comprehend than the other ones: rhysmos. Aristotle’s translation of rhysmos into schēma has led most interpreters to acknowledge that it referred solely to atoms individually, while the other two differences would refer to relations between atoms. In this paper, I want to propose an interpretation in which rhysmos actually refers to several aspects of the chemistry and microphysics of the atomic theory. (shrink)

In recent years, Cesar Chavez’s life and legacy have been subjected to increased scrutiny. The ensuing reevaluations of Chavez, wittingly or not, are matters of ethical, as well as historical and biographical, concern. This article has two aims. First, it reconstructs Chavez’s account of exemplarity and uses it to assess his legacy. Second, it provides an account of exemplarity situated within social practices. As I argue, exemplarity operates through social practices, rather than mystically as posited by a contagion model. The police’s use of facial recognition technologies allows them to verify identification in real-time by mapping facial features into indicators that can be compared with other data stored in its database or in online social networks. Advances in facial recognition technologies have changed law enforcement agencies’ operations, improving their ability to identify suspects, investigate crimes, and deter criminal behavior. Most applications are used in tracking and identifying potential terrorists, searching for abducted and missing persons, and security surveillance at airports, national (...) borders, and large public gatherings. However, for facial recognition technologies to fulfill their potential, they must not only be adopted by the police, but the public must also support their routine use. Using a secondary data analysis of a public opinion survey conducted by the Pew Research Center among a representative sample of US residents (N = 5307), we investigated the factors associated with the public`s expectations about the positive and negative outcomes of the police’s adoption of facial recognition technologies. Our results show that public attitudes to FRT are balanced, indicating awareness of the public for potential advantages, but also disadvantages of police adoption of FRT. Privacy considerations and familiarity with the technology were found to be critical for the explanation of public attitudes expressing both positive and negative expectations from the police adoption of facial recognition technology. Our study contributes to the understanding of the factors associated with public attitudes police’s use of facial recognition technologies. (shrink)

The Kalam Cosmological Argument is perhaps the most solid and widely discussed argument for a caused creation of the universe. The usual objections to the argument mainly focus on the second premise. In this paper we discuss the dependency of the first premise on the topological structure of the space-time manifold adopted for the underlying cosmological model. It is shown that in chronology-violating space-times the first premise can also be violated. The chronology-violation, in turn, requires a massive violation of the (...) so-called energy conditions which might have observational effects that are briefly discussed here. Hence, astronomical observations could be relevant for the validity of the metaphysical argument. In this sense, it is possible to talk of “observational theology”. (shrink)

The scholarship on deep disagreements presents us with a considerable number of seemingly disparate characterizations concerning the nature of these disputes. This paper is motivated by the desire to grasp what these characterizations are. An answer is provided through the method of reconstructive analysis. Two ideal and paradigmatic models of deep disagreements are defined initially. Then, individual characterizations found in the scholarship are examined against the background of such models. Special attention is given to Fogelin’s paper, the work that initiates (...) modern discussion on deep disagreements. According to the interpretation provided in the following paper, both models inadvertently coexist in this seminal work. Résumé: Les études sur les désaccords profonds nous présentent un nombre considérable de propriétés apparemment disparates concernant la nature de ces conflits. La rédaction de cet article est motivée par le désir de comprendre quelles sont ces propriétés. Une réponse est fournie par la méthode de l'analyse reconstructive. Deux modèles idéaux et paradigmatiques des désaccords profonds sont d'abord définis. Ensuite, les propriétés individuelles trouvées dans les études sont examinées dans le contexte de ces modèles. Une attention particulière est accordée à l'article de Fogelin, l'ouvrage qui initie la discussion moderne sur les désaccords profonds. Selon l'interprétation fournie dans l'article suivant, les deux modèles coexistent par inadvertance dans cet ouvrage fondateur. (shrink)

Project-based teaching (PBE) has emerged as an effective pedagogical strategy for the development of key skills in higher education, especially in areas such as critical thinking and technological competencies. This study analyzes the impact of EBP on the development of these skills in university students of technological careers. Through a mixed methodology that includes surveys and analysis of academic results, the progress of 120 students was evaluated before and after participating in a project-based course. The findings suggest that EBP not (...) only significantly improves critical thinking skills, but also encourages a more efficient and creative use of technological tools. (shrink)

Closed time-like curves (CTCs) naturally appear in a variety of chronology-violating space{times. In these space{times, the principle of self-consistency demands a harmony between local and global a airs that excludes grandfather-like paradoxes. However, selfexisting objects trapped in CTCs are not seemingly avoided by the standard interpretation of this principle, usually constrained to a dynamical framework. In this letter we discuss whether we are committed to accept an ontology with self-existing objects if CTCs actually occur in the universe. Disagreement in philosophy is all-pervasive and irresolvable. There is almost no thesis in philosophy about which philosophers agree. In contrast to most contemporary accounts of philosophical disagreement, I argue that a significant proportion of philosophical disagreements are rooted in differences regarding values. A second thesis that I shall defend in this paper is that disagreements regarding values are not resolvable by argumentative means.

Knowledge representation is a central issue in a number of areas, but few attempts are usually made to bridge different approaches accross different fields. As a contribution in this direction, in this paper I focus on one such approach, the theory of conceptual spaces developed within cognitive science, and explore its potential applications in the fields of philosophy of science and formal epistemology. My case-study is provided by the theory of truthlikeness, construed as closeness to “the whole truth” about a (...) given domain, as described in the underlying language. I show how modeling propositions and their relations within a conceptual space has interesting implications for two issues in truthlikeness theory: the so called problem of language dependence, and that of measure sensitivity. I conclude by pointing at some open issues arising from the application of conceptual spaces to the analysis of philosophical problems. (shrink)

Mill’s socialism and democratic theory have led some scholars to accuse him of trying to eliminate conflict from political life. Whereas Graeme Duncan has averred that Mill’s socialism aims to institute a completely harmonious society, James Fitzjames Stephen has contended that Millian democracy sought to evacuate conflict from political discussion. This article reconstructs both critiques and argues they are imprecise. Even if disputes motivated by redistribution of material goods would no longer exist in an egalitarian society, conflicts driven by resentment (...) over social reputation would keep the flame of conflict burning in a Millian socialist community. Moreover, a close reading of Considerations on Representative Government shows that Mill knew that no amount of political discussion is able to make conflicting opinions disappear. According to him, conflict is unavoidable in democratic politics because citizens analyse political issues from different social perspectives. Mill’s goal was not to eliminate conflict, but rather to regulate it in such a way as to bring about its attendant benefits, namely, progress and self-development. (shrink)

Este trabajo se propone dos objetivos, uno descriptivo y otro propositivo. El descriptivo consiste en el análisis de la crítica que realiza E. Cioran, a lo largo de su obra, a la concepción humanista del ser humano Nuestro filósofo pone en cuestión la arrogancia del hombre que se coloca en el lugar fundamental y de supremacía en el ámbito de la vida, lugar que le sirve de justificación para conquistar, apropiarse y aniquilar a la naturaleza y al resto de los (...) vivientes. Por otro lado, en términos propositivos, me interesa plantear la cuestión de la animalidad(el animal que es el ser humano, y los animales no humanos) porque permite poner en cuestión esa concepción humanista, y pensar nuevos modos de ser-con lo viviente. En este sentido, sostengo a lo largo del trabajo que la filosofía de Cioran permite pensar una noción de lo humano atravesada por la animalidad, noción cioraneana que desarma("descompone") la arrogancia de los humanismos. Para ello me serviré de la problemática de la muerte como inmanente a la vida y de la crítica de Cioran a la noción de propiedad. (shrink)

En este trabajo nos proponemos elucidar el concepto de bíos desarrollado por Foucault en su curso recientemente publicado, Subjectivité et vérité,estableciendo su desarrollo luego con la noción de "vida bella" presentada en su Historia de la sexualidad, para finalmente analizar un tipo específico de bíos, el de los cínicos, que transita entre la crudeza de la parresía y la animalidad.

El neoplatonismo da un giro significativo cuando Jámblico integra a su doctrina una perspectiva mística basada en los _Oráculos Caldeos_. Esta recopilación de fragmentos, que se remonta al zoroastrismo babilónico, surgió en la civilización helenística y ganó relevancia como textos herméticos entre los filósofos a partir del siglo II. Para Jámblico, la preocupación neoplatónica sobre la posibilidad de un retorno al Uno se aborda no tanto a través de una filosofía puramente abstracta, sino mediante una sabiduría filosófica iluminada por la (...) práctica teúrgica. Jámblico afirma la legitimidad de los ritos detallados en estos textos hieráticos, sosteniendo que fueron inspirados por Dios mismo a Juliano. Siriano y Proclo desempeñan un papel crucial en la preservación y transmisión de este legado. Al heredar las enseñanzas de Jámblico, no solo consideraron este enfoque teúrgico como un elemento cuasi refundacional del neoplatonismo, sino que también introdujeron sus propias contribuciones a su desarrollo. Además, actuaron como los intermediarios a través de los cuales estas doctrinas llegaron al autor del _Corpus Dionysiacum_. En este punto, Dionisio Areopagita entra en escena. Él revitaliza el concepto de teúrgia, aunque –como este trabajo tratará de demostrar– su intento de integrar el neoplatonismo con el cristianismo refleja un retorno a la interpretación original de la teúrgia por parte de Jámblico. Las doctrinas de Dionisio proporcionan una base sólida para que él sostenga que los ritos cristianos instituidos por Jesús –siendo realizados por Dios mismo, en y a través de su propia persona– son doblemente verdaderos. Por lo tanto, estos ritos conducen ciertamente a la _theosis_, el único medio para lograr la unión del alma con el Dios cristiano. (shrink)

ABSTRACT In the 1960s, when Dr. Belding Scribner discovered how to accomplish the process of dialysis in a repeated way, he could not imagine that in solving such a problem others as or more difficult would appear. Given the technological progress and the impossibility of assisting all patients through the most modern methods, the medical doctor often finds himself faced with the moral dilemma of choosing which patient in the waiting list will receive the treatment. This same dilemma is amplified (...) in the case of organ transplants. Professionals, students, professors of the juridical and health fields, and the population in general, were interviewed as a means of documenting the moral concepts and opinions surrounding this problem. In the reality in which we find ourselves, it seems to us that deciding who lives, and the responsibility for all the events that culminate in such decisions, is still a subject left open to discussion. Some initial considerations on film in documentary form are discussed, along with its relationships with reality and fiction in cinema language. Found footage genre is explained, pointing its most important technical and aesthetical characteristics. The text points the importance of the movie camera in documentary and found footage, not only as a technical device that objectivizes the information in a static manner, but also as an axis that configures dynamism and subjectivity on films. Redacted (2007) by Brian De Palma is (...) analyzed as an example of hybrid forms of fiction and reality in cinema. Beyond a traditional analysis of narrative of films, this text emphasizes the forms in which they are developed, which affect and determine the substance of films. (shrink)

El propósito de este trabajo es ofrecer un análisis de la discusión sobre el canibalismo y los sacrificios humanos de los indígenas en el contexto de la controversia entre Las Casas y Sepúlveda. Dicho análisis es muy relevante, en tanto que permite observar las raíces más remotas del actual derecho de intervención y de la doctrina de los derechos humanos. Para tal fin, el autor empieza con una rápida descripción de los motivos que condujeron a la disputa de Valladolid, al (...) tiempo que enuncia los cuatro puntos en discusión. En segundo lugar, realiza una descripción más o menos detallada del cuarto argumento de la controversia, que trata en concreto sobre los sacrificios humanos y el canibalismo indígena. Y concluye mostrando que, al justificar estas prácticas, Las Casas busca ante todo la integración de las culturas indígenas en el marco general del conocimiento histórico universal. (shrink)

Este trabajo se propone pensar las relaciones entre el ejercicio del gobierno y los regímenes de veridicción, teniendo como eje las problematizaciones planteadas por Michel Foucault en el curso titulado Du gouvernement des vivants.

This quantitative study investigates the impact of educational programs designed to foster social entrepreneurship on the development of human and community skills. Data were collected from 150 university students in Latin America, who participated in social entrepreneurship programs during the 2022-2023 academic cycle. Through structured surveys, key competencies such as leadership, empathy, problem-solving and teamwork were assessed. The results show that educational programs that integrate social entrepreneurship have a significant impact on the development of skills that not only benefit students (...) individually, but also their communities. El objetivo general del presente trabajo es elaborar una lectura pedagógica de Filosofía de las formassimbólicas, de Ernst Cassirer, centrando la atención en el volumen Fenomenología del conocimiento, donde el autordetalla que los fundamentos aducidos por Paul Natorp, en Introducción a la psicología constituyen una visióncrítica de la psicología como fundamento de las operaciones intelectuales. En general, son tres los resultados amostrar: primero, que esta recuperación de la visión natorpiana permite a Cassirer sostener que toda actividadcultural (el lenguaje, la mitología, (...) el arte, la ciencia, etc.) tiene como fundamento las actividades psicológicas delsujeto, lo que implica que toda formación simbólica es, tanto un producto intelectual del individuo como unaactividad cultural; segundo, que para el desarrollo de una psicología crítica, de acuerdo con al plan general deNatorp, es necesaria una teoría de la formación que explique cómo el entorno cultural conforma las actividadesintelectuales del sujeto, tesis general asumida por Cassirer para el desarrollo de su teoría del símbolo; finalmente,que los agentes formativos culturales considerados por Natorp para la formación del individuo (Estado, artey religión, principalmente) constituyen las bases teóricas de la cultura, en las que posteriormente el alumnodesarrollará su teoría del lenguaje, mito/religión, arte y ciencia como formaciones culturales. En este artículo presentamos una revisión crítica de lo acontecido durante este tiempo, con el ánimo de formularnos nuevas preguntas: ¿qué impacto ha (...) tenido en las prácticas de enseñanza de la filosofía el giro didáctico-filosófico iniciado por Guillermo Obiols?; ¿qué posibilidades filosófico pedagógicas abre la didáctica aleatoria de la filosofía propuesta por Alejandro Cerletti?; ¿cómo han sido apropiadas estas y otras herramientas conceptuales y metodológicas por lxs profesorxs de filosofía en la escuela secundaria?; ¿cómo recibió la comunidad filosófica universitaria estos trabajos?; ¿qué nuevos desafíos debemos asumir en la formación del profesorado teniendo en cuenta las actuales transformaciones culturales y subjetivas? Es un buen momento para hacer un balance. Palabras clave: Enseñanza de la Filosofía; Didáctica de la Filosofía; Giro Filosófico; Virtualización; Subjetivación O ensino de filosofia na Argentina e a construção teórica do seu campo disciplinar: da virada filosófica à virtualização da realidade Resumo: A constituição de um campo acadêmico e disciplinar que hoje pode ser chamado sem reservas como didática da filosofia, ensino de filosofia ou filosofia do ensino de filosofia é fruto de uma produção teórica sistemática, de uma reflexão metodológica e de conformação de redes acadêmicas que existem há mais de trinta anos. Neste artigo apresentamos uma revisão crítica do que aconteceu nesse período, com o objetivo de formular novas questões: qual o impacto da virada didático-filosófica iniciada por Guillermo Obiols nas práticas de ensino de filosofia?; Que possibilidades filosófico-pedagógicas abre a didática aleatória da filosofia proposta por Alejandro Cerletti? Como essas e outras ferramentas conceituais e metodológicas têm sido apropriadas pelos professores de filosofia do ensino médio? Como a comunidade filosófica universitária recebeu essas obras? Que novos desafios devemos assumir na formação docente, tendo em conta as atuais transformações culturais e subjetivas? É um bom momento para fazer um balanço. Palavras-chave: Ensino de Filosofia; Didática da Filosofia; Virada Filosófica; Virtualização; Subjetivação The teaching of philosophy in Argentina and the theoretical construction of its disciplinary field: from the philosophical turn to the virtualization of reality Abstract: The constitution of an academic and disciplinary field that today can be called without reservations as didactics of philosophy, teaching of philosophy or philosophy of teaching philosophy has been the result of a systematic theoretical production, in a methodological reflection and in the conformation of academic networks that have been in existence for more than thirty years. In this article we present a critical review of what happened during this time, with the aim of formulating new questions: what impact has the didactic-philosophical turn initiated by Guillermo Obiols had on philosophy teaching practices? What philosophical-pedagogical possibilities does the random didactics of philosophy proposed by Alejandro Cerletti open up? How have these and other conceptual and methodological tools been appropriated by high school philosophy teachers? How did the university philosophical community receive these works? What new challenges should we take on in teacher training, taking into account the current cultural and subjective transformations? It is a good time to take stock. Human beings have a memory adapted to primarily retain and recall information that favors their survival and reproduction. We tested whether the frequency and severity of environmental challenges influence adaptive memory, i.e., the ability to retain and recall adaptive information. Therefore, in a community of family farmers, we verified whether the salience index of snakes (as a proxy for the distribution of local knowledge and organization in the recall process) is determined by (1) relative abundance; (2) synanthropic behavior (proxies of (...) environmental challenge frequency); (3) aposematic intensity; (4) active defense behavior; and (5) venom lethality (proxies of environmental challenge severity). To access local knowledge, we used semi-structured interviews and free lists. Ecological information about snakes, necessary for hypothesis testing, was collected from 15 herpetologists. Our results suggest that only the frequency of an environmental challenge determines a person’s ability to retain and recall adaptive information. The severity of an environmental challenge does not determine episodic memory by itself, but only amplifies the recall of information associated with frequent challenges. Therefore, an individual’s adaptive memory is fueled by the repetition of environmental challenges. Nonetheless, when the level of biological organization shifts to the population, severity is deemed evolutionarily significant. The severity of an environmental challenge, even if it leads to the death of individuals, may contribute to the evolution of the population if there are cohesive processes within the population, such as knowledge transmission, that transform it into a new “adaptive unit.”. El neoplatonismo da un giro significativo cuando Jámblico integra a su doctrina una perspectiva mística basada en los _Oráculos Caldeos_. Esta recopilación de fragmentos, que se remonta al zoroastrismo babilónico, surgió en la civilización helenística y ganó relevancia como textos herméticos entre los filósofos a partir del siglo II. Para Jámblico, la preocupación neoplatónica sobre la posibilidad de un retorno al Uno se aborda no tanto a través de una filosofía puramente abstracta, sino mediante una sabiduría filosófica iluminada por la (...) práctica teúrgica. Jámblico afirma la legitimidad de los ritos detallados en estos textos hieráticos, sosteniendo que fueron inspirados por Dios mismo a Juliano. Siriano y Proclo desempeñan un papel crucial en la preservación y transmisión de este legado. Al heredar las enseñanzas de Jámblico, no solo consideraron este enfoque teúrgico como un elemento cuasi refundacional del neoplatonismo, sino que también introdujeron sus propias contribuciones a su desarrollo. Además, actuaron como los intermediarios a través de los cuales estas doctrinas llegaron al autor del _Corpus Dionysiacum_. En este punto, Dionisio Areopagita entra en escena. Él revitaliza el concepto de teúrgia, aunque –como este trabajo tratará de demostrar– su intento de integrar el neoplatonismo con el cristianismo refleja un retorno a la interpretación original de la teúrgia por parte de Jámblico. Las doctrinas de Dionisio proporcionan una base sólida para que él sostenga que los ritos cristianos instituidos por Jesús –siendo realizados por Dios mismo, en y a través de su propia persona– son doblemente verdaderos. Por lo tanto, estos ritos conducen ciertamente a la _theosis_, el único medio para lograr la unión del alma con el Dios cristiano. (shrink)

A partir de una presentación sistemática de los aspectos fundamentales de la teoría freudiana de la sexualidad, sus remanentes aristotélicos y la denegación del carácter material de la libido femenina el presente artículo tiene por objetivo tensionar el imperio del falo. Para ello, se reconstruye, inicialmente, la supuesta naturaleza masculina de la libido y como Freud repite, a su modo, los planteamientos de Aristóteles respecto de la figura del macho mutilado. Enseguida, el artículo se enfrenta a la aproximación misógina de (...) Freud respecto del clítoris y, por medio de su reivindicación, propone la deconstrucción del carácter fálico de la sexualidad. Finalmente, se muestra que el problema de Freud para pensar la sexualidad femenina es su imposibilidad de hacer el duelo del padre.
